Brigham and Women's Hospital's works with referring hospitals to deliver expert care to trauma patients. To assist in providing outstanding patient care, Trauma and Acute Care Surgery presents patient follow-up to the physician and/or trauma nurse of the referring hospital.
Communication is conducted via follow-up letters and phone calls. The Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Program prepares reports relative to outcome, ISS, and disposition. We also provide regular on-site discussions of all transferred trauma patients.
