The Brigham and Women's Hospital Center for Transgender Health is led by internationally recognized pioneers in gender-affirming health care. Our highly experienced multidisciplinary team supports transgender patients during every step of their journey. We offer a full range of surgical and medical care in a safe, attentive setting.
We provide treatments in accordance with the Standards of Care published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and guidelines from the Endocrine Society. The Brigham is proud to have received the "Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality" designation multiple times from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation.
We understand that each patient has their own individual needs and expectations. Our care providers work closely with you to create a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan that helps you achieve your goals.
Our Mission
The Center for Transgender Health mission is to:
- Deliver innovative, high-quality, specialized gender-affirming clinical care and share these practices nationally
- Reduce health care disparities in the transgender/transgender and gender diverse (TGD) population. This includes cultural competency and access to care across the Mass General Brigham system.
- Train the next generation of health care leaders to address the critical shortage of clinicians with expertise in gender-affirming care. As a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, we are committed to expanding the field of transgender care.
- Conduct the clinical, basic, and translational research that fills the knowledge gaps in gender-affirming care.
