Steven Thompson, MBA, Senior Vice President, Chief Business Development Officer
Steven Thompson is the Senior Vice President, Chief Business Development Officer at BWH effective Dec. 1, 2014. As a member of the hospital’s executive leadership team, Thompson will develop and shape the organization’s partnership and investment strategy and work with clinicians, leadership and others to identify, assess and prioritize opportunities.
Thompson will focus on developing new partnerships nationally and internationally and has a great depth of experience in this area. He founded Johns Hopkins International, which strives to establish working relationships with medical centers, health ministries and investors around the world to improve quality, safety and access to advanced medical care for many populations. Under his leadership, Johns Hopkins International has developed collaborations and implemented projects with incredible depth and breadth across some 20 countries.
Before Johns Hopkins International was established, Thompson served in a number of leadership roles at Johns Hopkins Medicine, including vice president of Ambulatory Services, vice dean of Administration for the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and administrator for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. He earned his MBA at Loyola University and received his BS at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
