Becoming a Patient at the Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

We are happy you are considering joining Brigham and Women's Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (CMBS) for this life-changing experience and we feel confident you are making the right choice. We are one of the largest and most experienced programs in New England and in the country.

To join our program, you must first attend a New Patient Information Session. The sessions are free and are currently offered in a variety of formats for your convenience.

In the new patient information session, you'll learn more about our program, the types of surgeries that we offer, and get additional information on nutrition and insurance requirements. If you choose one of our live sessions, you'll also get to interact with some of our team members, including a bariatric surgeon and a bariatric dietitian, who will be available to answer any questions you may have.

If you are not interested in a live session, you can also attend the New Patient Information Session as a pre-recorded online video.

You can also download the information session materials here.

After you have attended the New Patient Information Session, call our New Patient Coordinator at 617-732-6960 to be scheduled for your preoperative appointments and guided through the preoperative process.
