Becoming a Patient at the Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

We are happy you are considering joining Brigham and Women's Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (CMBS) for this life-changing experience and we feel confident you are making the right choice. We are one of the largest and most experienced programs in New England and in the country.

To join our program, you must attend a New Patient Information Session. The sessions are free and are offered at a variety of times and locations for your convenience. You'll learn more about our program and the types of surgeries that we offer and you'll get to meet some of our team members, including a bariatric surgeon, a bariatric dietitian, and our New Patient Coordinator or our Financial Coordinator.

You can also attend the New Patient Information Session online. Watch a short preview below or go directly to the online video New Patient Information Session. Download the information session materials here.

You can register for the New Patient Information Session online or by calling our New Patient Coordinator, at 617-732-6960. Don't want to register? No problem! Walk-ins are welcome.

After you have attended the New Patient Information Session, call our New Patient Coordinator at 617-732-6960 to be scheduled for your preoperative appointments and guided through the preoperative process.

Want to meet other patients who are part of CMBS? Join us for a Bariatric Forum meeting! Meetings are free of charge and no registration is necessary.
