Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN®) and the Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA®) Review Course

This course provides an overview of the care of the Perianesthesia patient. Topics include: anesthesia review, standards of care, medication safety, care of the critical care patient in the PACU, and post anesthesia complications. Presented by national expert and well-known speaker Maureen McLaughlin MS, RN, ACNS-BC, CPAN, CAPA.

Course content is based on the test content outline for the CPAN and CAPA examination. All topics will be offered in an interactive, case problem-solving style to enhance critical thinking.

Learning Outcome

  • To enhance the nurse’s knowledge of perianesthesia nursing and certification preparation.
  • As a result of participating in this course, the attendees will use the content presented to prepare for the CPAN and CAPA certification exam.
