Tracheostomies: Beyond the Basics

This class includes a brief overview of respiratory system, anatomy and physiology is provided as foundation to a detailed presentation related to trachesotomy tube placement and concepts related to the care of this patient population. There is also a presentation from Speech Language Pathologist r/t the assessment and care of the tracheostomy patient specific to the mechanics of swallowing. The final hour is spent with focus on the nursing care of this patient population and skills practice stations for learner application and practice.  Each course is held at One Brigham Circle on the fourth floor.  Registration is done through Healthstream.

Each course will be held from 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM at One Brigham Circle, 4th Floor.
