Immunology Laboratory

The Immunology Lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital performs tests that aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune, infectious and allergic diseases. The methodology includes nephelometry, ELISA assays, indirect immunofluorescence, FEIA and modified complement sheep fixation.

Immunology is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4 pm. The testing is performed by ASCP-certified Medical Technologists and includes the following tests:

Allergy-Specific IgE Testing

  • We tests for hundreds of specific allergens

Autoimmune Disease Testing

  • Anti Nuclear Antibody
  • Rheumatoid Factor
  • Anti Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide
  • Anti-SM, Anti-RNP, Anti-RO, Anti-LA, Anti-Scl-70, Anti-DsDNA
  • Anti Cardiolipin IgG and IgM
  • Anti Beta 2 Glycoprotein I IgG and IgM
  • Anti Prothrombin
  • Total Complement
  • C4 and C3

Infectious Disease Testing

  • Lyme screening
  • Syphilis Antibody
